Discount cards are the single easiest way to put money into your students Individual Band Account (IBA). The students are give a pack of 10 discount cards that are to be sold for $5.00 each. The first 10 cards the student sells goes directly to the booster organization to support the band. For every card the student sells after that, the money is deposited to their IBA. This means that if a student sells 20 cards beyond their initial 10 they've earned $100.00 for their band account. We've had students sell as many as 150 cards and basically funded their band experience totally out of the Discount Card fund-raiser.

The cards are easy sells and should be marketed such that if they purchaser uses the card just one time, it will pretty much pay for itself. Other marketing hints are that the cards are reusable all year long. The date runs from June 1st through May 31st of the next year.
